Spotlight on the Ink Drinkers: Stella Castelli

Alright! Time to meet more of the Ink Drinkers. This month we’ll be spotlighting Stella, one of our OG members.

Name: Stella Castelli (ahem… Doctor Stella Castelli)

Where were you born? Zurich (This is what she claims, but we aren’t entirely sure she wasn’t born in an enchanted forest under a full moon to a family of witches.)

What do you do for work/ fun/ hobbies? I work in the English Department at the University of Zurich. For fun I read (duh), but I also love watching (horror) movies (ask her about her tattoo but like, not in an annoying way), dabbling in Witchcraft, hanging out with friends and swimming.

How did you get into reading? I was always drawn to reading. I taught myself as a child and haven’t stopped since. (Literally. She never stops. I have tried multiple interventions. It’s really annoying having dinner with her. Just kidding.)

What are your favourite genres? Horror/mystery, critical theory (ha, nerd), essays and short stories.

What are your top three favourite books at the moment? The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides, Orlando by Virginia Woolf and The Secret History by Donna Tart (ooh that’s a good one…) Honorary mention (I’ll allow it): White Cat Black Dog by Kelly Link.

And last but not least: What are you currently reading? Clown in a Cornfield by Adam Cesare. (I can also personally recommend that one. Great read for summer/fall. If you don’t mind killer clowns…)
