Happy 250th to Jane Austen

This year marks the 250th birthday of Jane Austen. Pile of Books wants to celebrate this cultural icon by throwing her a birthday party not to be missed. Whether you’re a seasoned fan and avid reader, a lover of the movies, or are curious about her works, this party is going to be a helluva good time (but in, like, a modest British way…)

Keep reading for details on the events and activities. No need to RSVP. Event is free but donations are welcomed.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH:
5pm: Opening: We’ll be kicking off this Regency Era weekend with prosecco and gossiping about our neighbours. But in a really polite way. Come by, cheers with us and browse. We’ll also be providing various editions of all of Jane’s works, as well as fun accessories.

5-7pm: Bryanna will be providing 30 minute literary themed oracle readings. Get inspired for your next book!

8-9pm: Trivia night! All things literary. First place gets a prize!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH:
11:30 am- Join us for an arts & crafts morning with the Zurich Glue Club to make your own literary themed bookmark.

11am-5pm: Bryanna will be available throughout the day for a literary themed oracle reading.

5pm: The Ink Drinkers will be meeting to discuss Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. No registration required, just feel free to join! We will be having High Tea to accompany our discussion. Finger sandwiches, scones and of course a variety of tea will be provided. Copies of the book will be available at the store. Come dressed up in your Saturday best, or come comfy. See you there!
