As the weather turns and we transition from spring to summer, it’s a perfect time to get back in touch with nature. We long to touch grass, be in water, go birding, and just generally be outside. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been feeling called more and more to read the works of the transcendentalists, especially those of American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Maybe you’ve been feeling that call, too.
We’ll spend a Sunday afternoon together drinking tea & Prosecco, eating sandwiches & scones, and discussing some selected essays and poems of Emerson that specifically talk about nature and what transcendentalism is all about. Whether you’re new to philosophy or a seasoned reader, we’d love to have you join us.
You can sign up here. Payment will be made at the door. Sign-ups are only so that we can get a sense of how much food and wine to order.
The reading material is provided for free below. Of course, if you wish to go deeper, we will copies of his works at the shop.
Hope to see you there and happy reading.
